James J. Smith is a principal in both the general practice division of BCCA LLP Chartered Accountants and the firm's consulting practice. He is principal in charge of the firm's litigation support services.

Mr. Smith was admitted to the Institute of Chartered Accountants in 1969 and in 1999, he was elected as a Fellow of the Chartered Accountants (FCA). In 2000, Mr. Smith was designated a specialist in investigative and forensic accounting. (CA·IFA)

Mr. Smith has had many engagements involving litigation support, valuation and investigative and forensic accounting. He has testified in court as an expert witness both as court appointed and on behalf of clients. He has also acted as a court appointed arbitrator.

Areas of competence in mediation and arbitration include: Commercial; Family/Divorce; Financial/Security; General Business; Insurance - Business Interruption; Partnership Disputes.
