Lawrie Cherniack is a Chartered Arbitrator and Mediator and lawyer with experience in virtually all areas of the law. He has done mediations, negotiations, and arbitrations, and has taught all levels of arbitration courses for the Arbitration and Mediation Institutes of Manitoba and of Saskatchewan, as well as having taught, across the country, courses on arbitration and negotiation.
He has been a lawyer since 1976, is former Vice-Chair of the Manitoba Labour Board, and Vice-Chair of the Manitoba Human Rights Commission. He was a City Councillor from 1972 - 1974. Mr. Cherniack received his Certificate in Conflict Resolution Specializing in Mediation Skills from Mediation Services in June 2005. He is also a former member of the Board of Directors of AMIM, the Winnipeg Airports Authority, the Winnipeg Symphony, Manitoba Theatre Centre, Health Sciences Centre, Manitoba Association of Social Workers/Manitoba Institute of Registered Social Workers, and is currently on the boards of Mediation Services and The Manitoba Museum. .
